Sora Park Tanjasiri, Dr.PH, MPH, Chair
Sora is Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Sciences at California State University, Fullerton. Sora is also the Director of the Health Promotion and Research Institute at CSUF. She is a nationally recognized researcher in cancer disparities among racial and ethnic populations.
George Keoki Shigematsu, MS, Treasurer
George is a retired Administrator and lead of the Special Education Program at Garden Grove Unified School District. George was a teacher and administrator at various school districts as well as an active member and leader in several Hawaiian and Pacific Islander clubs and associations.
Tu-Uyen Nguyen, Ph.D., MPH, Secretary
Tu-Uyen is Associate Professor of Asian American Studies at the California State University, Fullerton. Tu-Uyen leads several research studies regarding ethnicity and health as well as a National Youth Empowerment Program. Tu-Uyen is involved in several Vietnamese American organizations including Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association and Vietnamese American International Film Festival.
Mary Anne Foo, MPH, Executive Director
Mary Anne is a Founder and Executive Director of OCAPICA. Mary Anne has more than 25 years of experience working in community health with diverse populations. She is involved in numerous health care institution boards and advisory committees.
Rob Liu, MS
Rob is the Managing Director of the BKY Group LLC. Rob serves as an advisor and consultant to several financial institutions as well as a business leader in the community. Prior Rob served as a Senior Manager of Risk Enterprise Services with Deloitte as well as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at several community colleges.
Paula Healani Palmer, Ph.D.
Paula is an Associate Professor for the School of Community and Global Health at Claremont Graduate University. Paula is a Native Hawaiian researcher focused on local and international issues related to public health, tobacco control, addictions, and global health. Paula is a psychologist by training.
James Lee, MA
James is First Vice President and National Sales Manager of Treasury Management Services at East West Bank. James has more than 25 years in the banking and financial industry. As a Regional Manager and First Vice-President, James is responsible for overseeing 11 branches in Orange County and San Diego and managing commercial business development team to acquire, expand, and retain commercial banking clients. He works on various special projects to bring process improvement and infrastructure transformation at East West Bank. James H. Lee is originally from South Korea and lived in Southern California for the past 32 years. James serves also as a pastor at a local church in Orange County.
Lisa Kim, MPA
Lisa is the Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Garden Grove and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of redevelopment and economic development for the public sector. Lisa works very closely with city policymakers, city department staff, residents, businesses, and local chambers of commerce. Lisa is also very involved in educational leadership including past President of PTA.
W. Cherry Li-Bugg,Ph.D.
Currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Technology for the North Orange County Community College District, Dr. W. Cherry Li-Bugg aka Dr.Cherry is a long-time community college administrator with a dynamically creative vision of life and work. Her approach to people, family, friends or colleagues alike, is engaging, warm and positive. She believes that life is to be lived, not endured. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on Asian American leadership in the community colleges and is vested in helping Asian Americans succeed in higher education and beyond. She is a fervent reader, a lover of films and good food, and always engaged in bettering her practices in healthy living. DrCherry is adept at change management, enamored with innovative solutions to helping institutions serving their students more and better and is an educational leader with integrity, vision and a high sense of purpose.
